Ok, im 24yom, 6' 0", as of 06-11-2009 i'm down to 298Lbs ( i hit a whopin' 335Lbs in 2007 and had to make a change). I'm working out on a regular basis and follow up with around 20 min of cardio afterwards... The Tennessee Ultimate Firefighter Competition is on Sept 26th, 2009. I don't have regular access to STAIRS...since i live in a small town...very few buildings over 1 story... The competition is described as the TUFFEST 2 MIN.S of a firemans life... all the tasks are of stuff we do in real life... Any suggestions on what i can do instead of running up steps to get the same effect?

Lunges with dumb-bells, buy some ankle weights and walk, strengthen your mid section.

Patience, persistence and perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success.
