If your diet was that good, you wouldn't have gained weight like that. You gain weight when you take in more calories than your body needs for daily maintainence. Trust me it's a really easy to do on accident. My advice is to start with your getting your diet on track for your goals. Check the diet forums for some great ideas.

I understand that except I was in taking 850 cals. a day for the past two months I lost a wopping 2lbs. and that is me walking all day from 07:45 to 11:00 and then again in the afternoon for two hours.Military no desk job lots of stairs. Then I would get off of work and do cardio 45 minutes(eliptical)and lift weights. So I am still having problems in my target areas. You can have a realy good diet but if there is no exercise with it it won't work right?

That sounds very low for daily calories.
Without knowing more about you it's hard to say, but I would suggest you may be falling into 'starvation mode'.
My understanding is, that in that mode your body will hold onto fat (it thinks it might need it later) and sacrifice lean body mass (muscle and good things) to keep surviving till the next good times.
Additionally, any fat in your diet is likely to be going straight into storage for later.

I'm sure if I'm reading this wrong someone will correct me, but 850 calories per day is (imo) way low.

Yeah that's waaaaaay too low. For your activity level I'd say you need to be around 1700-1800 a day. You are literally starving your body and it's fighting back against you.

That mid section will come off in time. It's the body's favorite spot to store fat. Unfortunately it's seems like it's first on and last off. Just keep plugging away and you will get there.
