I just had a baby about 7 weeks ago...and have been so ansty to get moving again! I just completed my 3rd workout last night, and have loved it so far!

A little history...I have been a runner since high school. In years past I've completed 7 marathons, & 16 half marathons. While I love the feeling of running...(yea I'm one of those weirdos)...I have had a desire to look more sculpted and toned. Running has got me is great shape, and slimmed down...but I would like to add some muscle to my frame.

Since I just had a baby, and took some time off from running...I thought there would be no better time to start from scratch, and add some weight training to the mix to achieve what I am going for.

Any tips from long distance runners who have had success becoming more sculpted as well?

Hi, no tips really from me but just wanted to say I'm in the same situation (well, not having had a baby, that would be biologically impossible!).
I'm a distance(ish) runner and wasn't too chuffed with how skinny I'd become after the London Marathon last year so have cut to slightly less distance and recently joined here to try and build a bit more shape and tone.

I'll let you know how I get on but am loving the workouts so far as well!

YES! You are on the right track! Definitely strength training should be at the forefront for your goal. I've got nothing against runners, but the long term benefits of strength training can't be denied. It may go against what you think, but make strength training your priority right now, with one or two days a week dedicated to the running. With a smart lifting program it shouldn't take long to start seeing a physical difference. Plus lean muscle requires up to 50 calories a day per pound just to support it. So by having more your metabolism actually has to come up to support it, which means more efficient fat loss.
