Hey everyone! Quick question...I recently lost 35-40 lbs over the last year and now i am trying progressively build a little muscle and become more tone. I seem to be doing well, my weekly workouts have been sparadic so I want to run this schedule by the board:
I have a hard time losing the belly fat but everything else is coming along nicely. Will this routine be beneficial and what should I do about toning up the midsection? What's a good diet?
Definitely check the diet and nutrition forums for advice. Diet is crucial to long term success.
As for your routine how about this:
Mon: Chest,biceps.
Tues: Abs,Cardio
Wed: Back,triceps
Thurs: Abs(sometimes),Cardio
Fri: Legs(including calves), shoulders
Sat & Sun: active rest
This is the schedule I run. I wouldn't worry too much about your calves unless they're drastically out of proportion with the rest of your body. You can work calves twice a week, but for weight loss and toning I don't see it as being necessary.
Also, a little bit of light to moderate cardio directly after lifting may help cut the fat as well. Nothing too drastic; 10-20 minutes.
