Annie here. :)

Always been in good shape, but my desire to run for pleasure is dying, dying, dying, and my legs are suffering. So here I am!

Annie, what sort of running do you normally do? I personally hate road running but love getting out on trails and paths, that's where I go when I'm feeling unmotivated!

Hi Alex!

I used to do some trail running, but I took on more hours at work, which cut into my daylight running time. So I go to the gym occasionally and do some time on the treadmill, but even that is tapering off--I don't enjoy it as much, and I think I'm just getting lazy! Maybe I'm just getting old! :(

No, not getting old, just demotivated, like us all at times, read some of the success stories on this site and that should motivate you again.
Good luck.

Annie, treadmills would demotivate even Usain Bolt! I personally only use them occasionally to do some speed sessions before work when it's horrible outside.

I know what you mean about the daylight running, running in the dark on trails is a bit dodgy at the best of times so I guess it's mainly a summer-time sport for those of us with jobs!

Maybe try speaking to friends to see if any of them are into running and fancy doing short road-based training runs with you? Having someone else is always a help to keep you going.

How about some cycling? If you don't enjoy extended running sessions anymore, how about some HIIT training?

I have considered some cycling, but I don't have the equipment at the moment...and it seems like I'm always limited on my time.

I've been talking to some friends, trying to find someone to run with, but it seems like most of my friends are interested in staying out and sleeping in, lol!
