This site suggested I should take in like 3600 calories and that was to lose weight. Does someone know a better way to figure this out as I am pretty sure this is way to high and that I should probably be around anywhere from 2100-2500. That is just guessing as I have no way to actually know. Thanks for any help!! I am just starting out.

Rule of thumb is to guide by 15cal per pound to maintain. In your case, wanting to reduce go for 12 cal per pound which would be at 2556 round off to 2500. If you don't see a difference after a couple of weeks take a look at what you are consuming.
There are more formulas but more scientific. This is easiest for me to explain here. Good luck

Mine said around the same for me. When I first saw it, I was confused. Carivan, I understand now what would be a better thing to do to lose weight but are the carbs, proteins, and fats numbers off too since the calorie number was just to maintain?

I am new to this whole calorie counting and don't understand so please forgive my stupid questions. Do I have to meet the calorie total or can I stay way under. I am not trying to, but I just don't eat that much.
