Consistency is the absolute key to sustained weight loss. Fitness is a very forgiving bandwagon, so if you fall off, just get right back on.

Just keep at it, and if you have any days that you find you are doing other things or lose motivation on, just make those your rest days. One of my rest days is Monday, when the gym is usually fuller than usual!
