Hi, I'm Tyler, 19 years old, and I am attending school in Massachusetts, originally from Florida. My goal is to get into professional wrestling. It has always been my passion and I feel I have a knack for it. I even began Tae-Kwon-Do at age 5 to "do some fighting" and got my black belt at age 11. I realize this is a long shot and that's why I'm in college, but I need to try or else I will always wonder what if. Basically my plan is to get a degree then work while attending wrestling school. I am currently a sophomore.
My main problem is that I am skinny. I have been my whole life, just like my dad. My brother is the same way, it is just in our genes. I have never had the healthiest eating habits, but I still gain 5 pounds a year or less. Muscle on my body is practically non-existent.
As I have gotten older and have more clearly defined goals, I am ready to make a change. I am ready to start on a diet that will help me gain muscle and weight and an exercise regimen to match it. I know nothing of fitness and will explore this website to help.
I read the FAQ's and I took my ideal body weight (I just put it at 200) and multiplied it by 15. That formula gives me 3000 calories I should be eating a day. My problem is, being at college, I get all my meals from the dining commons here on campus and I don't know how many calories are in the foods I will be eating. I can't make my own meals as I only have access to a microwave. Any tips here? I know just eating salad won't even get me close! Although it would probably help my cholesterol level!
