Welcome Dannnonn! You need to fill out you profile and goals so that ft can design a specific diet for you. They don't tell you what foods to eat - they tell you your daily needs for protein, carbs, calories, and fat. It's up to you to create a diet that adds up. The general rule for body building is 1 to 2 grams of protein per pound of body weight. 1 is minimal, 2 is optimum. You NEED protein to build muscle. You can use shakes to supplement some protein, but you really need "real" food to get most of your nutrients. Classic body builder foods: chicken, fish, tuna, cottage cheese, oatmeal, yogurt, skim milk, all the fruits and veggies you can stand, and, of course, protein shakes. Don't forget your essential daily multi-vitamin! You'll want to read about Creatine also. Do a search on this site and read old posts. Keep asking questions. There are extremely informed and experienced people on this site. You'll learn SO much in a short time. Good luck!

Welcome Dannnonn! Bretto was spot-on when he explained about the protein. So eat good quality proteins with your daily meals and to make up the rest of the meals use a good quality Whey Protein drink. I also add some creatine and L-Glutamine with my drinks especially with my post workout drink. Do not forget about a good quality multi-vitamin. Also make sure to drink +/- 0.04 x your body weigth in water. This is usually around 2-4 liters of water per day. Good Luck!
