I used to be a pretty significant musclehead, but marriage and 2 children have left their toll on me 9 years later. My 6'3 body that was once a solid 220-225lbs had balooned up to 301. At the beginning of March 2010 I was finally disgusted enough to do something about it. I immediately changed over my diet and by mid-March, I had joined a local gym. It's NOT the "hole-in-the-wall" that I long, but it serves my needs.

As of April I'm down to 285lbs, through solid dieting and lifting regularly. I've made it through the DOMS stage and I'm able to push pretty hard again. I still maintain a lot of great knowledge and have designed my own training. I train under a "muscle movement" philosophy.

I have to admit my goals are much different then they were as a prior musclehead. My goals are simply a return to a weight of 220-225 and to be able to handle my weight in most core lifts for 10 reps. And I think I can do that, but I do have an injury from my prior weight training and that is where I could use some expertise.

Finally, I have to admit it's a bit humbling to step into a gym again knowing what you've achieved in a past life, but then knowing what you've let yourself become. I have found that's the only drive I need really. I'm back, I'm focused, and I have the fire burning again. It's a great feeling!
