I am currently in a temp. living situation and all I have access to is a machine. So I started a program (8-week muscle mass) and specified Machine Only. That worked for the 1st 8 weeks, the next program I specified the same but now it is throwing in exercises that require freeweights. I am adapting what I can but I rather be told machine only exercises. I plan on getting a basic weight set in the future, but I can't start filling up this temp place with weights!
Why does the Machine Only program also tell me to do exercises that require freeweights?
Thx

Just thought of another question.. Everything I read mentions that you should keep the rep range to 6-12. I am doing the muscle mass program but most exercises are 15min 20max reps. ???
Thx

At one point or another, you must have checked off access to both free weights or machine. Or, there's a glitch in the program. Just substitute what you can with your machine.
As far as the rep. range, you should keep them between 6-8 if you aim to gain mass. Go heavier as you progress in your sets.
Good luck!

So far so good, I am really sore after dropping the set range from 4 to 3, and keeping reps between 6-12. I was able to up the weight by 20lbs w/some exercises. Wish my 'program' would have told me to do this 12 weeks ago!
Still don't understand why it was telling me to do freeweights when I had "only machines" selected. I have never altered my profile.

The program design on this site is a little too generic if you ask me. It prescribes high rep stuff for everyone and lots and lots of sets. It doesn't appear to tailor the program at all. What's up with that?
