Hi my name is Leigh (male version) and im in need of a drastic change in lifestyle!!
I weigh a rather epic 330lbs and have a target of 100lb weight loss by the end of the year...
My first target is to dip under 280lbs which i havent done so for about fifteen years.

I guess my problem over the years has been laziness, boredom and poor self motivation..i am convinced now thats not a problem!
Moved house a few months back and now have a brand new state of the art gym and leisure complex less than a minutes walk from my front door so no excuses!
Started the healthy eating plan yesterday and planning to enrole at the gym/leisure centre this week..

I guess im nervous and apprehensive that i will look badly out of place next to your regular gym going guy...i know once ive been a couple of times i will lose those inhibitions but its a scarey/daunting thought!

So here goes....hopefully heading to a fitter, active much healthier life!

It can be a bit of a challenge, but you have to stick to it. Most people in the gym are feeling the same way you are. They just want to lose weight or get themselves toned up. So no worries. When getting start make sure to look at the training programs for new people and just take your time. After awhile you will the power of feeing great after a program and wanting to do more. Keep us posted on your progress. GOOD LUCK!!!

Hey guys,

Great advice Moonlmc; it does indeed start somewhere & the best thing is to pace yourself & do what you can.
Paudies2008 - You have made me officially feel guilty. I too have recently moved & live 12 seconds from a huge park I used to run around when I lived further away. I had a babysitter today but instead opted to bake (and eat) cake.

Reading this post (and the subsequent guilt) means I am now putting a P90x disc into the dvd player now. Cheers for the motivation guys - hopefully it will compensate for the cake before stepping on the scales tomorrow.
