I have been working out for about four months now and i cant seem to tighten up the nipple area of my chest. I use the "butterfly" machine, do cable crossovers, and decline press with no noticeable results. Is there anyone out there with some advice because i am becoming somewhat frustrated. Thanks, Adam |

What are you doing for your pecs? Diet may be considered also.-------------- The trouble with jogging is that, by the time you realize you are not in shape for it, it is too far to walk back! Franklin P. Jones Ivan Montreal Canada |

Sorry. I'm sleeping. You said butterfly machine, 4 months is kind of long with the same exercise. Try changing your routine and try barbell incline bench, or dumbell incline. You may want to also add straight arm pull overs. try all 3.Diet is also important. I have a lot of strength in my pecs. 250lbs is the max on the butterfly machine and i can do that all day but the lower/outer area will just not tighten. Should i do lower weights with higher reps? |

Have you ever tried pyramid sets? reps 16-8-6-4....increasing weight as you go? The muscles need to be shocked sometimes. But 4 mths is really too long for the same routine. Give it a go and keep us posted!-------------- The trouble with jogging is that, by the time you realize you are not in shape for it, it is too far to walk back! Franklin P. It is quite possible you have fat there, that is why you are not seeing the lower area tighten. You will not see this tie in lots of times till you diet down. It does not mean it is not developed. Sounds like you are covering the bases with your workouts. I don't think any amount of specialized exercise will make this "tight". I had the same problem till I dieted for a contest. Voila', great tie ins there all the time. Think about this before you kill yourself doing unnecessary set after set, exercise after exercise.-------------- The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary! |

What route should i go for a diet, no carbs, no sugars, no calories or what? What diet plan has had the best experience for you? A little insight on myself; 6'3" 247lbs. med-big build. slow metabolism. I am also going to try the pyramid method with incline barbell press. When i used the decline and benched it felt like it worked the muscle group pretty well but no physical appearance changes so i really think i need to find a good diet plan to work in tandem with my workouts. |

I think now you are thinking correctly. I used to work that area like crazy too, and I felt it good, but never really showed. That is a normal place for fat deposits. I bet you do have developement there. By your size you posted, I would bet on it. A high protein, med to low carb diet will work. Of course your first need is to cut out the sugars and fats if you are doing them. Add some cardio for extra caloric burn, and keep your protein up. It is much more involved than this, but this will get you on the right track. Make your carbs useful ones, fibrous.-------------- The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary! |

I usually start my workouts with about 1.5miles on the treadmill but two weeks ago i sprained my ankle pretty bad and still am wearing an airbrace. I am tentative to run because i dont want to re-injure it. I have access to an elipse machine but i dont feel it does much. Are there any extremely low impact cardio excersizes i can do while staying off of my ankle? |
