Hey everyone!
Im Samantha, 19 years old.. and needing some motivation!
I just started on FreeTrainers.com today and a little worried that I wont keep up with it. I've tried many other sites and routines but I have failed to stick with them. I currently work long hours and I am in school so I don't have a lot of time to work out and I don't like going to the gym I prefer to have privacy while I work out. I've considered trying weight loss pills or supplements and what not but clearly I don't know much about them I just figured it would be easier considering I don't have the time to workout, but I'm not sure if they work or if they are even good for you so I'd prefer to do it the healthy way an earn it!
I only weight between 110-115 but I find that I could lose a little weight in my stomach, like abs and obliques. Most people would say I don't need to lose any weight or tone up an blah blah blah but it's deffinitely something I want to do for myself because I know I'd be even more comfortable and healthy if I did! I'd love to tone up my thighs and maybe gain some muscle in my arms as they seem scronny to me.
I finish my school year in April so I planned to start working out when I am out of school, but I have changed my mind and decided to start sooner because my goal is to look good for summer, and I know that if my summer starts in April I wont have the determination to start working out then!
I really hope to stick with this and finally have the perfect body I'm aiming for because I know I'd be so much happier and it would be one less thing I'd have to worry about! Please give any advice you may have, anything would be helpful!
The key is to keep posting here, joining the right groups with people with the same goals. Also post on your FLog, it's a great way to document your progress whether it's good or bad - accountability.
There is no doubt in my mind that you will reach your goals, you can do anything you put your mind into.
I devoted all my time to studying- sitting all day and eating whatever I could find fast. Late nights, boston cheese cake, and zero activity level was my first 3 years of school – and I was studying kinesiology and Health Science!! I felt like such a fraud :(
Then, in my 4th year, I had to take some practical physical education courses as part of my major: swimming, squash, etc. WOW! I learned real quick what I had been missing! It was amazing how much more attentive I was in class, how much more energy I had, and how must less stressed I became! I actually started to loosen up, and became more efficient at school.
Try to be good to yourself. Take more than 30 minutes of the day for you. It’ll give you a good break from all the rest of the “must do” in your life. This time of your life is difficult, I know. Life is all about priorities – can’t do it all. It comes down to what you think is most important and a decision of what can be postponed.
Good luck and keep us in the loop of how you’re doing!
Ya! my days go by so fast since I work mostly 8 hour days and the days I have school I work too and then the rest of my time goes towards studying! I do eat fairly healthy but because of all the studying im usually stuck at home sitting down or catching up on sleep as much as possible so I'm trying my best to add a simple workout into my routine! It's gonna be hard but hopefully I stick to it!
I just wanna look good for summer! I don't take well to stress and summer is my time off so I wanna get to a point where im stuck in a healthy routine where im working out BEFORE my break so that I don't have to stress about getting into one all summer long when i shouldnt be stressing!
