G'day everyone !! My name is Amie and Im Aussie (obviously)  YAY go ME!! ......
Anyhow I've recently had surgery on my spine due to a accident at work. It's been 7months and 3 weeks since I've been off work, and throughout this time I have gained close to 15kgs (sorry people I don't know what that is in pounds) and I've just been cleared to start exercising again.WHOOP WHOOP !!! Im excited to be into my second workout but need to know how to eat the right things . I want to build muscle and loose some weight as well and any suggestions and advice would be AWESOME!!

Thanks much and drop me aline or a hello or g'day etc

Congratulations, Amie!  Glad to hear you're back on your feet!

First off, try and eat as much natural food as you can.  Frozen vegetables are fine, as long as they don't have seasoning or sauce with them.  Initially, to encourage your metabolism to speed back up, you should probably eat lots of fibrous vegetables and lean protein.  The lean protein will also help you build back up some muscle, if you're allowed to do any sort of strength training.  If you eat carbs, make sure they're complex carbs.  Think whole wheat pasta instead of regular pasta, beans or brown rice instead of white rice, and 100% whole grain bread instead of white bread.

I'm sure the weight will come off shortly, so just be very careful with yourself!  Back injuries, even after they're "fixed", can hang around and nag you for a long time.  Slow and steady wins the race!
