I just found/joined this site today. My weight has fluctuate between 40 or so pounds the last several years. I'm tired of not liking what I see in the mirror. I'm scared of losing weight in areas I don't want to and being left with the belly fat which is my biggest self esteem crusher. Looking forward to developing a routine and a diet that can help me reach my goals all while working and raising my nine year old!

Hi Kris. Welcome here. There is lots of info and help available. Unfortunately, weight comes off the way it wants to. You can't spot reduce. But the good news is that if you make the lifestyle change and stick to it, you'll be happy with the results. Don't try to lose it too quickly. If you aim for a pound or two  a week, that's doable and you probably wont have stretch marks. Remember you didn't get out of shape in a week or a month. Take your time and enjoy the ride.

---Spring is here and what a great motivator. Who cares what you look like go for a walk, bike ride, borrow a friends kids and go to the park. I weighed 120 when my kids were young because they kept me going. Now, I bike on a bike trainer on my patio. I can not get hit by cars, no helmet and I still enjoy the sun.
