So when i try to do a sit i cant seem to go all the way up without tucking my feet under something. Also laying flat on the ground i cant lift my legs up making a v and hold it there for longer that a sec or two. Is this a flexiblility issue or do i need to gain more muscle on my abs?

This is a strength issue. The stronger your abs get, the easier your sit up will be. To hold your V requires a great deal of core strength! Keep working at it and little by little you will be able to hold it for longer. If you are starting your V from the laying position, your are already doing well by just getting up into the V. Keep up the great work!
