I just started here at FT and was wondering when I should I increase what I am lifting? What I mean is if I am using 100 lbs this week for an exercises should I try and increase it next week or work with that weight for a while?
I hope my question makes sense.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the quick response ravenwolf. I'm going to try it and see how I feel.

I always try to go up each time. However that said you should be able to complete each rep(though the last few are very hard). Say you can lift 100lbs for curls. You hit the 10 reps the last 2 very hard. Now next time you should hit 105 even though you only get say 8 reps. Make sure in each case form is great and try that out.

Thanks Mutt. I will try that. But of course, at this time I am not curling 100 lbs. :-)
One other question. Should I be going up also during the workout? i.e. - for my FT workout it has me do four sets starting with 20 then 16 then 14 then 12. Should I try to increase the weight as I do the less reps?

Well that is one way to do it and that is how most do it. I suggest to try that out and see how it works. Iknow that you most likely are not curling 100 lbs rightnow but stick with it. When I started I could just get 45lbs up now I am over the 100 mark, so it is possible.
