I am starting my 4th week of weight training and I try to inrease the weight each week. I am finding it difficult to finish sets because of pains in my hands during the exercise e.g. one arm dumbell rows. I have thin wrists and hands - will this limit me to the amount of weight i can use? any suggestions on relieving the pain during lifts?

lift less until the muscles can do the work. Don't rush and you will make better gains in weight.

I have thin wrists and they killed after doing heavy sets. Try doing standing/sitting wrist curls to strengthen them up so that when the time comes, you can lift heavier weights. Going off topic but try brushing your teeth with both hands, using full range motion of the wrists. You might find your wrists in great shape in a month or so

Hi John how do you hold the dumbbell?
Often we don't realize how hard we actually hold the DB. Try to loosen up your grip a little and see if that helps! (now Ageis gives a good idea about strengthen your wrists as well).
Good luck!

Also is the pain from the bar hurting the skin, might try gloves and for very heavy sets(NOT EACH ONE BUT THE LAST ONE) Try lifting straps
