How is your vitamin and mineral intake? And, look to your diet for the answer, unless you have a medical problem we are unaware of, then you need to see a qualified professional.-------------- Failing to plan is like planning to fail! |

same as everyone else said but add WATER!!!!! LOTS of WATER!!!! I do 3-5 Nalgene's a day. Also are you getting enough exercise every day? I used to work at Curves and one woman said that adding her workout to the time of day that she lacks energy gives her a real boost. |

Usually you will feel tired and have no energy during the onset of becoming sick, like the flu or cold. If you don't get enough good carbs that will also bring your energy levels down unless you have alot of fatty tissue. -------------- Nothing is too small to know, and nothing is too big to attempt! Everyone works out differently and we all have different diets. Depending what your program is, you might be targeting only one muscle, but other muscles are getting worked also. One time per week works. Remember your muscles grow outside the gym and your diet is key importance. Please fill out your profile, and welcome to freetrainers. -------------- Nothing is too small to know, and nothing is too big to attempt! You can do alot inside, you can get your heart rate up by going up and down stairs, you can do jumping jacks, run on the spot, all kinds of things. I know what you mean about the weather. Here in Mtl, its been a deep freeze since mid Jan.-------------- Nothing is too small to know, and nothing is too big to attempt! Ivan Montreal Canada |

Start small and go from there. Walk away from foods that you know are bad for you. Cake, candy, fried foods, etc. Then after a couple weeks give up some more things that you know aren't that great. I tried to make huge steps at first and found it extremely difficult. Smaller tasks or self compromises are much easier to do and easier to stick to.

You need to get yourself set up on a regular diet where your eating the right amount and type of calories everyday to supply you with the energy you need. Your maintenance calories are the amount of calories needed daily to maintain your current weight. Determine this first. Weigh yourself, then right Down everything you eat for a week, weigh yourself again, if you neither lost or gained you are fairly close to your maintenance calories. Add up the total calories you had for the week and take the average to see what it is. From there you can deduct 200-300 from your daily amount and weigh yourself again at the end of the next week or two. You want to see a 1-2 pound a week loss, no more. Healthy food choices across the board can be found in the thread "grocery list for healthy eating" in the specific diet and nutrition forum. Try to eat 5-6 smaller meals a day, like breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack. This should get you started...I'm terribly sorry to hear about your daughter, I hope we can be of some help to you here.

Hi bluedolphyn and welcome to FT. The others have given you some great advice on nutrition, but given your current situation, and I am so sorry for your loss, I think you need time to mend your mind/sole as well. I hope you are getting some grief councelling and have a lot of other support available to you. This kind of loss will be extremely draining of your energy, no wonder you're tired. Give yourself some time to heal, eat healthy and try and get out an walk or do whatever exercise you've done in the past. There is a very supportive community here as well, so remember we are here for you.
Take Care:love: |
