For using weight machines, what would be a good weight tostart at. And is there a way to find the weight right for me.

you're not looking for an answer from me, but the way I decide is to find my max. Max is the most you can lift in one rep while still maintaining good form. Then I guess take like 60% of that and lift that... and depending on how you want to do your program adjust accordingly. When I was following my friend's gymnastics training program we'd up the amount every set as the reps decreased.

Yes you are the only one who can tell. Try your way and find a weight who'll make you work hard but able to do all the wanted repetitions.
