Hey, this may seem like a stupid question... On the machines in the gym, how do you read the numbering on the weights? The stack of plates is numbered from the top: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, etc. Am I correct in assuming that each plate is 10 pounds?

Thanks for indulging my newbishness.

(today was my first day on a plan and it felt great!)
