Are you able to work out your lower body (legs. abs, and lower back)?
Any cardio? I guess if your pretty sore, any movement might be too painful.
You know I found a really good physiotherapist. After working with her, I have a hard time believing doctors when it comes to muscles and tendon involvement...sorry doctors out there! They seem to only know the names and functions, but the physio's who really know their stuff are more helpful and know the true story.

I suffered an umbilical hernia a few years ago.Doc said no lifting for 8 months!NO WAY!I was back in less than 3.Tore it again in less than 2 weeks. Doc really reamed me. Had to lay off almost a year that time.Listen to your Doc.

Take the time to heal. Do extra legs or cardio. It's better to miss two months and be healthy, than to come back in two weeks and tear something.

Watch your form and good luck lwith your rehab. Remember that you will always get back to where you left off with your training quickly once you have let the injury heal. We all know that lifting heavy involves half mental training so you have probably come at least half way. Pain is always an indicator that we need to be careful.Stretching easy too will help re-strengthen the area, increase blood flow to help with healing.
