Hey everyone I noticed a couple of days ago that when I stood a certain way (bent my right knee and put weight on it) that my knee hurt. This has progressed over the past few days and now whenever I bend my right knee and put weight on it, it hurts. It feels like a tendon or something is being pulled or stretched very hard right under my kneecap. I am not sure how this injury came about. It's possible that it is from my lack of working out lately? This has come at a bad time too since I am planning on starting baseball workouts soon. Thanks for any tips, etc.

Sounds like you overworked or overstretched your patellar tendon. I get that once in a while when I play tennis. What helped me was to get a knee "brace" (i.e. cho pat or something similar). But the main thing is you need to rest it! Give it time to heal by not putting much weight on it. You'll be back running in no time!

Have you gained weight recently?
Our joints suffer a lot more than we imagine. This can turn out to be chronical pain. A good idea is to see a Dr, just to make sure.
Body builders often have probs with the ligaments (and joints!) if their muscles grow too fast.

Just don't hurt yourself. Weight training is to strenghten not to weaken......

My knee bother me when I run too much, need new sneakers, and over do my leg work outs. I put ice on them ASAP and take buffered asprin. I take a supplement called Glucosomine. Works well. Beverly Nutrition has one caleed Joint Care. http://www.sportsupplementstore.com/
I went to see a Orthopedic Dr. and he gave me a few exercises. Check out these sites http://www.cto.med.br/exercicios.htm andhttp://www.kneeguy.com/

If you stopped working out and then just started again lately then you might have irritated a tendon or muscle in the knee. Just try stretching out and warming up a little more before your workouts. Also put some ice on the effected area to ease more pain or swelling.
