Curious how many women here have done the mass program. I'm starting to wonder if I'm on the wrong program. I'm on my second week of the lean out and tone up program, have been following the nutritional guidelines a little longer, maybe three weeks, and I'm sort of alarmed at just how small I've gotten. My goal was definition and even two weeks into this I can tell a slight difference, especially in shoulders and tris, have lost a pound or two or three but my bf% is still hovering around 18% - maybe I'm not getting enough food? I'm shooting for my 1500/day, 112g protein allowance and doing fairly well most days, sometimes not, although I'm careful to get the required protein and if anything I go over on cals, not under. I'd really like to build strength and muscle but was afraid to do the mass program because I thought I'd be gaining a lot of fat in the process. Am I just being impatient? Before I started this program I believe I had been overtraining for at least a few months so I'm feeling like I've been busting my *ss for quite a while now just to *maintain* strength and muscle, in the meantime I keep shrinking out of my clothes but apparently losing muscle along with the fat since my bf% hasn't changed. :( I do three days of cardio a week, 45 min to an hour. I love my cardio so giving it up isn't an option. Sorry for the rambling post; any women who've done the mass program, I'd love to know what kind of results you acheived, and if it might be better to do the mass program and then follow it with the lean and tone since I'd like to gain some size as well as define. Any suggestions? :) If you made it this far, you're a saint. ;)

Sorry, I said mass - the program I meant was Lean Muscle Gains, not Max Muscle Mass.

Thanks!

Jessica, I have done that program, but I wasn't following a good (or any) nutritional plan at that time, so I can't be sure how well it would have worked. I did gain some muscle and some fat, but I was eating everything that wasn't tied down! I just started doing another mass program last week (after lots (ok so maybe only 2) of weight loss/tone programs). I think as long as we eat clean, we shouldn't get too fat. Good luck!

Hmmm I cannot really say that I've done the program (since I got other goals for the moment) but I can tell you that when I started to get very serious about body building I took extremely heavy.... I needed that to build up a nice foundation of strong muscles.
After that yes you should continue with the lean and tone program.

Thanks to both of you!

Lumina, I thought I remembered you said something about starting the mass program.

I've been eating everything that's not tied down this week already! We went out of town... fun... but I really blew it.
