Hey Dawn, Welcome to the boards. For the diabetes I am really not sure about the nutrition part. Look in the General Fitness forum under Diabetic diet. Sandysford is diabetic and I am willing to bet she will help you on the nutrition part. One thing that comes to mind is how much water are you drinking for the protein to show up in your urine? Do not let the diabetes defeat you. You own your body and it can be controlled. How many times a day are you eating? The weight gain is because of muscle, water retention and the meds. The meds can cause you to retain water. The body goes through many adjustments when you are first starting out. Give it more than a month. In your case I would give it a good 3 months of consistent training, nutrition, hydration and rest. Be patient and it will come. Check out the female forums for the butt and thighs. The bye bye arms will go away too. For all of this to take place it is a matter of fat loss. Do you know what your BF% is? Concentrate more on that than the scale.
You can do it. It might be harder for you but patience and consistency is the keys for anyone trying to loose the fat.
:) Melissa
-------------- Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit. - -- Aristotle
