Well on here it said i have an apple shape but i don't think so i think i have more of a pear shape. my stomache is flat but i have big butt n thighs and i have the bye bye arm. Ever since i had my son which was 6 years ago i am having a hard time in losing weight. I've seen some people say eat more protein but my doctor said i have tooo much protein in my kidneys. Is their anything else i can replace protein with. It's hard because i am not allowed fruits, and certain veggies with sugar due to me being type 2 diabetic. It seems i have to become a vegitarian in order for me to lose the weight. I was doing cardio a lot and saw lil results but started weight lifting and felt better n tight. When i was weightlifting i gain 6 lbs why is that? i was freaking out then i stop working out because i got more depressed and also i ask my doctor and they said it was water weight due to all my meds also. Then some people said i'm gaining muscle..i don't know who to believe. Some people will say things to me just to make me happy, but i would like to know the truth. I have the motivation on going to the gym..i'm just afraid of gaining weight insted of losing weight.

Hey Dawn,
Welcome to the boards.
For the diabetes I am really not sure about the nutrition part. Look in the General Fitness forum under Diabetic diet. Sandysford is diabetic and I am willing to bet she will help you on the nutrition part. One thing that comes to mind is how much water are you drinking for the protein to show up in your urine? Do not let the diabetes defeat you. You own your body and it can be controlled.
How many times a day are you eating?
The weight gain is because of muscle, water retention and the meds. The meds can cause you to retain water. The body goes through many adjustments when you are first starting out. Give it more than a month. In your case I would give it a good 3 months of consistent training, nutrition, hydration and rest. Be patient and it will come. Check out the female forums for the butt and thighs. The bye bye arms will go away too. For all of this to take place it is a matter of fat loss. Do you know what your BF% is? Concentrate more on that than the scale.

You can do it. It might be harder for you but patience and consistency is the keys for anyone trying to loose the fat.

:) Melissa

Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.
