If Dad or a friend is available, have them care for the baby for an hour or so while you go workout (between feedings if you are nursing). It is so important for you to have a little time for yourself - to get fit and for piece of mind. Some gyms also cater to womens need with a child care facility. I hope you are able to get the help you want - not only is working out good for your body, it is great for the mind. Good luck keishankenny |

Get some small dumbbells and a rubberband and you can do some exercices at home while the little is sleeping or -as Amazon says; get somebody to take care of your baby so you can get out a little!Welcome and good luck! -------------- - Nina :o) Les Victoires éternelles sont celles du coeur. |

I JUST HAD MY SON THREE MONTHS AGO. I AM ALSO TRYING TO LOSE THE BABY WEIGHT. AND YOUR RIGHT, IT HAS ALSO BROUGHT DOWN MY SELF-ESTEEM. I NEVER USED TO HAVE TO WORK OUT, AND NOW IT SEEMS EVEN THOUGH I AM TRYING TO LOSE THE WEIGHT, IT IS SO DIFFICULT TO ALSO TAKE CARE OF A HOUSE, MY SON, AND WORK. SO I KNOW WHERE YOUR COMING FROM. MY ADVICE IS TO IF NO ONE CAN WATCH HIM FOR A WHILE, WORK OUT DURING HIS NAP TIME. ALSO I WOULD FIND SOMEONE THAT WOULD HELP MOTIVATE YOU TO ACCTUAKKY WORK OUT. IF YOU DO NEED SOMEONE LET ME KNOW. I WOULD LIVE TO HAVE SOMEONE ELSE TO TALK TO WHO KNOWS WHAT I AM GOING THROUGH. |

I have a 7 month old. I have just started walking on my treadmill and using some dumbbells at home. Also pilates are good. I know one lady who went from a size 12 to a 6 in 3 months just doing pilates and watching what she eats.============ Quoting from keishankenny: hello everyone i have a nine month old son and it seems i never have time to work out.i need to lose this baby fat so bad because its basically bringing my self-esteem down.so if anyone know of you can squeeze in a little time to work out please let me know. ============= |

Hello... I am a monther of 3 small ones myself...all under seven yrs. I work full time and I am still trying to loose the baby fat. My baby is now turning 11 months old. I had lost so much body fat before I got pregnant..and Now I am starting over with the fat issue. I feel down about myself and my body. I walk almost every am..and I lift free weights atleast 3x a week. I am trying hard to watch my fat intake..but I see little results. I know from before, you just have to be patient...and determined. Keep your chin up,believe you can do it.. search for support.....and find a routine at home or the gym that best suits your need.Eanderson73 |

my son is 2 and i just started a new job and working out. my best advice is to start a routine for both you and your baby now. meaning: if you need to get away to work out, do it. this way your baby will get used to having times when mommy's away. if you wait like i did till your child is 2 i think it may be harder. my son rejected me for almost 2 months b/c i wasn't spending as much time w him. i feel like if i had done it sooner he at least would have been used to the routine. and it would've been easier on me. there were so many times i wanted to quit just so he would stop shunning me like the plague and excluding me from all his activities. but i kept at it b/c i know that mommy needs to feel good about herself in order to be the best mommy she can be to her baby. so remember that... even though they may scream and kick, it's going to make you a better person and a better mommy if you keep yourself happy and healthy too.you can do home exercise with dumbells during naps and if you're not nursing during feedings if baby can hold own bottle. good book to peruse through is called 8 minutes in the morning by jorge cruise. if you watch what you eat, the guidance and exercises in it are great to get started with. good luck and take care |

Invest in one of those baby joggers. The real kind with bicycle tires that you can walk or jog behind easily. Get out in the open air and walk, walk, walk! Your baby will love it. One thing also that I used to do is hold my daughter in my arms and do squats, both regular and for the inner thighs. Babies are nature's dumbells! (I know, that sounded crude!) Sincerely though, if you just can't make it to the gym or have time to get away, do the above. Lay on the floor and lift your baby up and down. A great arm workout!!

Listen to Kelly's advice on a baby jogger if you like to jog. I have a friend who has had good results with one of those. It gives you a work out..and the baby an outting.
Also...the baby as a natural dumbell...this is true gals. I do exactly what she said...by lifting baby and it does work those arms. Another exerise is to lie on you back with knees bent, placing baby on you lower abdomin and do raised, it gives your butt, lower back and upper legs some workout. |
