I am not sure but I was always told that 10reps to 4reps was what you need to do to get big. But the get big program is telling me that I need to do 16 to 8 reps what do you think?

Um you mean the 12 week advanced program? I haven't tried that one yet but I think I saw somewhere that definition and tone or something like that was 12-16 reps and size and strength was 8-10.. or something like that.. those seem wrong.. anyway... on your program is the first set 16 reps then it drops to 8?.. I get lot of exercises like that.. I always think of that first high rep set as a warmup set sort of.. but i'm not too sure if this is the same thing in the 12 week mass program.. I think rp might of already done that one.. maybe he can answer this better..

The mass programs sometimes have the first sets in the 16-20 rep range. That's fine. These are warm ups. I use moderate weights for these to make sure I am able to complete the number of reps. Then I go heavy when the rep. range falls. On your last set, you should be close to your max.

Mostly for mass...but strength comes with the territory.
