The "Body for Life" book is what got me started and I have lost over 85 lbs of fat...muscle? Who knows how much I've gained...I need to have that done.

I feel great and I am in my forties! All I can say is that it can be done. Take small steps, smaller goals and it can be done!

I don't think so...you might need to slow down and decrease the load..but weight training can actually benefit everybody especially if his pretty old.

I am in my forties, I have never felt better. Lifting weights eating five to six small meals a day plus drinking tons of water have put me in the best physical condition that I have ever been. I have dropped 85lbs. of fat. I am not sure how much lean muscle I have gained as I need to have fat/muscle analysis done.

I just found this site but I started training with weights in 1979 and have been at it for some 22 years off and on now (mostly on though:). When I've taken extended layoffs around 6 months or more I start to feel old!But as soon as I get started again I feel the years slide off,I can see them melt away every time I look in the mirror! If there is an age that u should stop at I will never admitt it! Hell, I plan to be buried with a full weight set right in my box.

old? Hell I'm still out there fighting forest fires, chasing the youngsters up the hills, pushing them with the fact that an old man can outdo them. It's a pride thing for them and me. The Marine Corp got me in shape when I was 19 and now at 47 do better now than in boot camp. Only one way,up. Some may say we are runing from old age, but hell it keeps me feeling young. No Viagra needed here.

that's a good way to put it. Some folks just get out of "circulation" as theijr teeth get longer.
