Usually, you should get about 7-8 hours of sleep per day.

Exactly.. a MINIMUM of 7-8 hours per day. Try to aim for 8-10 for full muscle recovery and growth potential. Taking a nap mid-day can help out plenty.

But everybody is different, and the need of sleep for each individual also changes.
How do you feel with 5-6 hours? Tired, you got enough strength to weight train?

As Arnold said, a good nap in the afternoon is maybe your solution.

A new study (heard this yesterday) indicates that individuals who sleep 5-7 hrs live longer than those who get 8 or more hours. I wake up naturally everymorning before the alarm goes off and thats about 6-7 hrs. Try waking uo with out the alarm and see how long you sleep!

I always wake up just before 8 o'clock every morning.... (without alarm) and that's no matter what time I go to bed in the night time....
Normally I go to sleep around 11 O'clock, but the other day it wasn't before 2am, and I still woke up at 8 not feeling tired at all (and that was for the rest of the day).

I think it's a question about finding the right body rythm that works for you....

Thanks everyone for the infomation and i will try the afternoon nap idea, but the suggustion on sleeping without an alarm would only work at the weekends because i would get up later for work(maybe not such a bad idea.....)
