Hi guys, a quick question for ya. I finished up my twelve week abs add-on, but as good as it was, I still dont have those "6 pack" abs. Actually they're more like a a thirty pack. Anyway, I want to continue with the abs workout. Will the software pick up where I left off, or will it just reset?
Thanks,
Doug

I think you need to reset the ab program by unchecking it in your profile then checking it again.. I'm not totally sure as I never restarted mine.. I just dropped it.. As for your abs.. is your bodyfat % down low enough?.. It could be your diet that is keeping you from seeing results...

Ok, thanks I'll try that. Actually, I put on 30 pounds after I injured my back, and I'm trying to burn that off. Boy, its slow going! Its amazing how much your metabolism slows down as you get older. Nevertheless, I'm determined to get this inner tube off !!

Welcome to ft, Doug! Unfortunately, the 12-week ab program works in conjunction to a sound diet! You can't have one without the other and expect to see results.
Good luck and continue on young man!

Ya, I hear you there, Robert. For the first few months, before I found ft, I was just kind of helter skelter, and for the first 12 weeks of the program I was really focused on the weights and the workout without watching my diet. Seeing as its the first of the month, I'm going to try to keep a record of my eating habits to see where I'm failing. Any good suggestions for being able to track calories/fat/protien ? I'm finding the ft lookup for different foods kind of slow.

The real best way would be to keep a journal of what you eat. You can log cals/fat/protein/carbs on them, then input them into ft's nutritional tracker. After one week, you should see where you need adjustment.
Good luck and keep us posted of your progress!

HI DOUG THE FISRT THING THAT YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER IS THAT IF YOUR BODY FAT% IS NO 10% OR LESS ALL YOU ARE DOING IS HIDING YOUR ABS. IF YOU DID THE 12 WEEK AB WORK OUT AND YOU CAN NOT SEE THEM THE NEXT STEP IS TO START DROPING YOUR BODY FAT% DOWN. BELEIVE ME THEY ARE IN THERE. KEY WORD (DICIPLINE). DIETING WAS THE HARDEST THING FOR ME TO LEARN BUT IT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT.

Don't forget to check the nutrition guidelines for the ab programme ... ft recommends dropping your calorie and carb intake + bumping up cardio to maximize results. Good luck!!

Thanks for all the tips! I managed to write down what I ate for two days, and I'm below what the nutritional guide recommended across the board. I didn't eat any less than normal,so I'm wondering if the 3900 cals that is recommended is to maintain or help lose weight. I started having whey protien in the morning to help get the protien numbers up, but man , that stuff tastes nasty!
