Hello to all. This is a good site you have going here. I have heard so many differations on the 1 rep max procedure, that I not sure when and how often I should do this. I have been lifting with just free weights at home for 6 months. I have no machines. I never even knew there was such a thng as one rep max. What I have been doing up to this point is lifting as much as I can without going overboard, and I am seeing decent results. Any explanation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Welcome to ft! Some of us use the 1 RM calculation to base our training on. Otherwise, it doesn't mean a thing. If you are looking to judge your strength with it, then by all means it can be used solely for that purpose.
