Hey, all!
I found the site through weight watchers.com. I will be 40 next April, I allowed myself to become very unhealthy and overweight but I'm ready to work on it. Started working out at home about 4 months ago. I can do the Leslie Sansone 3 mile tape nearly every day. Summertime I walk or bike ride.I find most videos too confusing with choregraphy that I don't get the workout I want. Anyone have suggestions?
Thanks!

Welcome kadeycat....great to hear you have made the decision of better health. You are in a great place, lots of willing and helpful folks on here in all ranges of fitness to help you. I am not aware of the Leslie Sansonne video, but does it incorporate resistance training? One suggesstion that comes to mind is are you anywhere near a gym? If you don't object to joining one, strenght training is fairly easy to do there and will go far toward burning that bodyfat off much more than just cardio. Muscle burns fat even at rest. The word muscle scares some women, they think big and bulky, but I promise you, this will not happen. Best of luck to you, and again, welcome.

Hi and welcome to freetrainers.com.
I know you have heard this before but its true, you must have a sound diet.
If the ww program works for you stick with it. Keep up a good regular work out routine and if you are doing weight training thats even better.

Leslie Sansone does indoor walking workouts that incorporate weights to work arms. It has very easy choreography but really gets the heart pumping. My arms, shoulders, upper back have been weak for a long time so I'm taking it slow. I can already feel a difference with less soreness and can actually make it through all the movements. That was not possible 6 months ago. I'm trying to get back to the 'arms, abs & buns of steel' but that will take some time. Good news is I'm down 16 pounds (about 1 lb a week)and my flexibility is improving. I have been thinking about 'Curves' or 'Ladies Workout Express' for the winter but is a hometown gym better for all round toning? Thanks for the help!

I think you will make a good choice with either Curves or Ladies Workout Exp, or for that matter a hometown gym. You will have much more access to weight/strength training, and this is essential to your goals you stated. Just about any routine they give and you follow will work. When you get more advanced, you can start to design your own workout from the exercises you like. Good to hear your conviction to a new and healthier you. You are in a great atmosphere here, lots of willing people to help you. Questions can be asked 24 hrs. a day! How about that for service!! And, as the name implies, free. Good luck to you, and ask away.
