How do you get motivated to do all this? How do you get the energy?

Well, my motivation comes from the fact that I am tired of being out of shape. I am 36 years old and I can't fool myself into thinking I can still do the same things that I used to do when I was 20 with no effort.

Now, I need to stay in shape so I can fell better an lose the extra weight I have gained.

I just started here at ft this week and I really feel this site is going to help me stay on track.

Also, the hardest part is starting. I heard once that after doing something for 21 days it becomes a habit so once we get past that it will be something we do without question.

Have fun!!

Wow nice post Raven, that even motivates me (it's gym night!).
And remember this....

Motivation is a starter, habit makes it continue! You are starting by being here. Welcome and good luck.

Like raven says you need to find your first motivation from with in yourself. Joining this site was also another step toward staying motivated. Next set some goals... The first time I tried to do my workout from this site I couldn't even finish the whole first set so my goal has been to be able to get through all of the sets on each exercise. After that I will probably increace my gaols to other things. Lastly, I stay in contact with these guys (and gals) ... the people on this site are really great encouragers... and sometimes its the other way around where I am the encourager but that is what this site is all about.
to sum up:
1. look with in
2.set goals
3. keep checking in here. (your progress tracker and the people will be a big help

I train because I enjoy it, when I restarted last year after a few months of it was to stop looking so fat – achieved that one. The profile is designed to help you by actually making you think about your goals so you know what you want and can remind yourself of that when times are tough. It also provides info for people when you ask for help for my advice fill it out honestly then you will probably find your own motivation and your own reward when you achieve these goals.

When I train I get my self a little pi$$ed off and this helps get the adrenalin going, look at the photo of a fat you, think of the kid who made fun of you and think I’ll show you. I find this not only helps me lift better but as all my aggression goes out lifting weights so I am a lot more relaxed normally.
