I am 18 and have been working out a few weeks. I weigh 130 lbs., and I want to gain muscle mass. How often should I work out, and how often should i rest?

3 times a week should be good for you,like mon, wed,friday.

Try the FT muscle mass program. I would probably work out 5 days a week and rest two of the days. Keep your cardio to a minimum, such as a brisk 20 min walk.

it all depends on what you want, if you want mass then i would say about 4-5 days, only working one muscle group a day. work with four sets of anywhere between 4-10 reps. for example on mondays i do chest, bench 8-6-6-4 flye 10-8-8 incline flye 10-8-8 dips 10-10-10 dumbbell pullover 12-10-8. and on tuesdays i do arms etc.
