Hi all, I just signed up today! I have already started dieting, and so far have lost 3 pounds. I have about 61 more to go. It gets really difficult at times. This is my first week of dieting, and I already want to quit. Those 3 pounds kept me inspired. I know it's going to be tough the next 6 months trying to lose this weight, but I know I can do it. I just wanted to know, how to figure out my personal nutrition program. I thought it would tell you exactly what to eat everyday. I need help ! LOL. Could someone explain this part of the program to me ? Thanks alot.

the plan will give you the grams you can eat every day. carbs/proteins multiple the number times 4 to get the approximate number of calories you can eat in a day. then take the amount of fat and multiple by 9 which is the number of fat calories you can consume. take these figures and divide it into around 5-6 meals. when you go shopping shop for staple foods of your diet, stuff you like such as lean chicken breast, eggs, veggies. The BEST tip i ever got was to cook all the chicken breasts in the beginning of the week, cut all the veggies. This way you can make an individual meal but most of the cooking is done. It will just be a matter of putting something together and reheating. if you need to know more specifics on what you can eat read atkins book, i never did induction (you can if you want), but it gives you the principles on which to eat a higher protein diet (notice he never stresses eating no carbs throughout your diet it is just for induction so you can drop a lot of the water weight and start ketosis). also if you click on carbs/protein/ or fat right around the calories you can eat there is a listing of recommended foods. basically the worst thing for your body is processed foods such as bread/pasta. if you have anymore questions feel free to email me. GOOD LUCK!

You don't say anything about cardio and or weight training. Congrats on the 3 pounds and keep going. Protein and carbs are 4 calories per gram, fat is 9. Like peopleschamp said you want to eat good food. Good sources of protein come in chicken , eggwhites, tuna, mackeral, tofu, low fat cottage cheese. Stay off of any white carbs. Stick to fibrous, and green veggies. Brown rice, grain bread, sweet potatoe, etc etc. Good fats can be olive oil, flax seed oil, omega 3's found in salmon. Hope tghis helps.
