I just got finished reading an article on in "Naturally Ripped News" on Netrition.com. Seems Pinnacle and Biotest are working together to develop a new type of protein. Its called 'Juiced Protein with Myozap'. Its not on the market yet, but here's the link to the product description page:
http://www.netrition.com/pinnacle_juiced_protein_page.html
The article I read was very interesting, although I think it sounded more like an advertisment than anything else. This is the actual article that I read:

This article is worth taking a look at just to see the picture of the Belgian blue bull. Yes, looking at a farm animal has never been so interesting. You'll see.......

Correction from my above post: It is on the market already. Its just not available through Netrition.com until May 1, 2002. It is, however, available on Pinacle's website (www.pinnaclebody.com) for $39.99 for a 33-serving, 2lb container. This stuff might be worth looking into.

interesting. cant wait to see the actual lab literature and see how much of it has been re-arranged just to put a new twist on an old product.
call me a cynic, but i've been in this too long, and i have seen so many snake oils come and go.

I did a little research about myostatin and Biotest's claims. Myostatin truly is a muscle growth limiting protien. When blocked (bound to) there is an increase in new muscle cell formation. I read a few clinical studies about using the active ingredient in these supplements to treat muscular dystrophy. I'm conviced and have started taking it. (Cytodyne's version) The science is legit, we'll see how it works out in real life.

Boy, I am really glad someone dug up this old post. GREAT example of the media hype versus reality. Should be a wakeup call to all who fall for the newest, greatest supplement from these unscrupulous companies. Look at the date of the original post...almost exactly a year ago. See how much of this stuff is selling now??? People learned after the company probably made millions that is doesn't work! Shows how the companies take a bit of sound research and science, but don't tell the whole story, put a huge spin on it, and hype it like crazy, and get rich! Buyer beware! Educate yourself. Knowledge is power.

I can remember when I posted the original post. I'm curious to know how many people blew their money away believing the hype about Myocrap, too. I'm glad I'm the kind of person that does his research.
