Congratulations! And as for your supplements working better. Not sure. I think only you can decipher that. Unless someone else on this board quit smoking in the process of their training...they'd probably have a definite answer. Try logging everything in the next 2 weeks. Your nutrition, gains, exercise, strengths,....everything...and 2 weeks from now.. look into your logs if there has been any progression....once again...congratulations!!!

Im afraid I dont know for sure but I would guess so. As Im sure you are aware, smoking is bad for your circulation so now that you have given up maybe the supplements will work better

Let me be the first to say...yes, your supps will actually help you from here on out!!! And, congratulations on kicking the habit! It's hard at first, but once your body gets accustomed to not having nicotine (about 4 weeks), you're going to notice a big difference in smell and taste. You'll also find more energy, last longer in your workouts and recovery will seem shorter.
Good luck and keep us posted of your progress!

I stopped smoking around two months ago and don't as yet find a difference in my training........I know it will benefit me and training recovery should reduce. Good luck in your training....... at least we won't get wrinkly skin from the cigarettes now we've stopped....

It takes roughly 8 weeks or more for your lungs to even heal from smoking. It's all about oxygen transportation so the quicker your lungs heal..

I think it takes more like 5 yrs. depending on how long you have smoked. I could be wrong. I quit 2 yrs ago when my daughter was born and I feel great. Good luck to ya sir....

Pambam, it takes a little while for all of the carcinogens to vacate the body. However, you should have noticed a slight increase in not only srength but also stamina. I'm involved in an endurance sport (tennis) and I noticed right away after I quit smoking (many years ago) how much longer I can last on the courts!

Yes smoking has affected me as well. I used to swim competitively and after i stoppped i started smoking. Then I strted competing againat Masters level. Endurance and explosive power (sprints) ARE affected (my case at least). I dont any more now anyways. :0)
