I am going to take a fat burner but am having trouble deciding which one. Hydroxycut, Xenadrine or Betalean? They are all around the same price and I was wondering which one works best?

Supplements are very much a personal thing. Whatever works for other people may not work for you as well, so whatever you try, buy a small bottle first. Anyhow, of the three you mentioned, personally Hydroxycut works the best, only if you buy the U.S. version. The U.S. version has different ingredients than the Canadian. The Canadian version doesn't work as well, but it's not allowed up here anymore.

I take hydroxycut and love it. I have gotten other people that I work with to take it and have not heard anything bad except for the amount of pills you have to take. I know a few people who take xenadrine and have also had good results. It didn't work for me that well. You just have to experiment with it and find out what works well with your body.

When it comes to fat burners, jawsqb is right. What works for some may not work for others. Generally speaking though, "fat burners" are a term which usually refer to (1) thermogenics; (2) lipotropics; or (3) both. Xenadrine and Hydroxycuts are straight thermogenics. They work by basically raising your body's core metabolism. Higher metabolism = more calories burned. Lipotropics, on the other hand, are usually stimulant-free and help the body emulsify fat. For most people, thermogenics are enough. But a lot of people don't have much success with any thermogenic. Reason is simple enough. Sometimes the problem is not just about caloric expenditure. For some, the problem in insulin-related (for example, insulin resistance). For others, especially women, it's an underactive thyroid. So, which to choose, Hydroxycut, Xenadrine or Betalean... Pick the name brand you're most comfortable with. When it comes to conventional fat burners, you don't really have to worry about ingredients. The two key ingredients are ephedrine and caffeine.

Glucosamine, chondroitan and MSM are a pretty effective combination. You an get the three combined in one under several different brand names. The glucosamine helps with regenerating cartilage tissue, the chondroitan helps generate lubricaing fluids for joints and cartilage and the MSM helps maintain elasticity. It takes about two weeks to start noticing the effects. Good luck and welcome to FT!
