Has anyone tried the GNC 100% whey. I just started taking it. It cost almost half of what nitrotech does and the lady at the store said she had good reviews on it. Any comments would be appreciated.

Lisa, never really tried any of the GNC brands of anything. So far as different whey products, I've tried EAS Simply Whey, ISS Research Whey Matrix, HDT 5 plus 1 and Nitro-Tech. The best tasting IMO has been EAS Simply Whey and Nitro-Tech. Simply Whey, Whey Matrix and 5 plus 1 all cost less than half of Nitro-Tech. The 5 plus 1 was the cheapest (6-pound tub for $26), but doesn't taste all that great.

It was the only thing I could afford starting out. I haven't had any complaints about it(other than taste) and have gotten pretty good results.

Can you tell me if there is any way i can get my protein other than whey? I have heard that soy isnt all that great, but at least i feel that it is better tasting than whey. I am a vegetarian, so i feel i dont get enough protein in my diet. Which is the best tasting whey out there? Is there some way i can get my whey into my diet without having to drink a shake? I dont like anything sweet, and the one i am using currently is way too sweet for my taste buds. Could you help me out? Thanks!

What kind of vegetarian are you? Do you eats eggs? Not eat eggs? Closer to vegan? You get the point.

I heard to 5 plus 1 is good, but they sell it over here for $41.00. I guess I am going to have to complain to the manager about the price gap. I paid $51 for 6 pounds of the GNC brand.

Roni,
Do a search on this list - I did a price comparision a couple of weeks ago on all the whey protein powders that are listed on the Netrition site (I compared prices also to another site, Nutripro). I have an Excel spreadsheet if you want it that shows all the data. Warning - Do NOT just go on price - there are other things to consider, like the amount of servings you get total and the amount of protein in each serving. It might sound great if you pay $15 for a tub, but if that tub only has 14 servings and if you are only getting 10g of protein in each serving, that is a very expensive tub of fillers :-) That's just an example, but hopefully, you get the idea. Don't get hung up solely on the price tag - compare the nutrition labels carefully.
I first purchased GNC 100% Whey as my first purchase, before I did the price comparision. GNC was middle of the road when comparing against other products - but I like the taste (I'm a vanilla flavor kind of guy :-).
Here's a tip - Always buy in bulk! It is always cheaper to buy the 5+ lb tubs, as opposed to the smaller tubs.
After my comparisions, I selected Champion's Pure Whey Protein Stack.
