Hi,
I'm taking a scoop (25mg) of soy protein shake with skim milk before bed-time.
Is that a good or bad practice to do?
I’m especially referring to the milk’s carbohydrates.
Sorry for the silly question, but I need to understand what I'm doing, and I hope to get some useful info from your expertise.
Thank you.

You may try some eggwhite in your standard protein drink before bed. It slows down the digestion, so you are not in a catabolic state the entire night....if that is what you are trying to achieve. You may even keep a drink by the bed, and if you wake up at night to say do your humanly duties, take a swig. Now of course this is if you are on a gaining regimine. I personally am not too big on the soy aspect.

oh yeah, a teaspoon of flax oil in the drink is also an excellent idea.

Well, I'm trying to gain some lean muscle, and I'm not aspiring to be the ultimate body either (right now= 6ft & 165lb).
I’m not familiar at all about flax oil... I will need to do some homework about that.
Are the milk’s carbohydrates fine before bedtime?
Thank you very much for your info.

I wouldn't worry about the carbs in the milk. Flax oil is full of healthy fat (omega-3s I think).
