Hi all, I'm looking for some thoughts here. I've been having a protien shake with 32g whey, a bannana, 12 oz milk, and 5g creatine about 45 min after my workout ( about 5:30 PM). It really cures that "raid the fridge" urge for a while until dinner - which isn't until about 8pm. I'm trying to drop some pounds and have been using an ECA stack in the AM., and I've been considering adding some ma huang and an aspirin to my shake, and dropping the bannana in order to help cut down on my cravings even more, but I'm not sure about this mix. Whadda ya think?

The only problem is that you might get hyped up late in the day. I would concentrate more on curbing the carbs late in the day. Especially that 8pm meal. Depending on what time you hit the sack, that sounds pretty late to be eating. Of course, I'm an old 26 yr. old who hits the sack around 10 at the latest! I would also caution against overdoing the aspirin intake. Remember, it thins the blood. Just be careful.

Well, first off drop the bananna and milk from your post workout shake. Mix your protein with water. If it is not tasty enough, try sugar free jello mix for flavoring. Such as the sugar free orange, will make it taste like a dreamsicle. As far as the ECA stack, as the prior reply from w8lifter says, you may have quite a problem sleeping. I found that when I did them, if I took them past about 1pm in the afternoon, I had trouble sleeping! And I work nights, and don't usually go to bed till about 1 am. Maybe your late meal too should be a good protein source, with some eggwhite and some flax oil before bed to slow down the digestion. Your carbs of a fibrous source only that late unless you are trying to store glycogen, which on a fat loss diet you probably aren't. Maybe this will help??

Forgot to mention...the reason I said to drop the milk also is because high lactose dairy products tend to like to lay around your waistline. Even though a good source of protein and vitamins, not good if you are trying to drop pounds.

Even if you are using Skim Milk? This is what I use. I really can't stand to take my protein powder with water. Is Skim Milk good? I am trying to lose some body fat with my current routine.

Excellent Help! Thanks for the input. I dropped the bannana and found no problem with taste - some calories gone there.
I'll try the sugar free jello and losing the milk next,
that sounds good. The ECA stack doesn't seem to be doing much anyway, but I'm going to give it a try and I'll drop it if my sleep becomes a problem.
