I am 19 years old and have been working out heavily for about a year. I think I have reached platough because I have been lifting the same weight with little to no increase for roughly two months. Is there something I can do? What should I take? I do not take protein shakes and am going to start. What is the opinion of EAS soy? I don't know if I can take whey or not because I have a medical diet that does not permit me to eat wheat. Can I take whey or soy? Does it matter? Somebody please enlighten me!

Whey is a much better quality protein. It is produced from
dairy. Always check with your doc if it is ok.
How often do you change your routine? That could be one of the obstacles.
I'm sure you will get some other good responses here.

Furthermore there are also egg protiens on the market.
NO wheat products for sure.

I wasn't aware that whey proteins were made from wheat. But, carivan hit the nail on the head. Eggwhite proteins can go a long ways towards makeing any protein a "super" protein. The amino acid profile in eggwhite is second to none in BV. Adding eggwhite even to soy will help to make it a great muscle building source. I would investigate the whey though, it and the blends are usually superior for muscle building to soy. Soy has some significant health benefits, but as far as muscle building goes...

Sorry for not putting this all on 1 post.
If you use whey protien you will have no problem with allergies unless you have a dairy allergy. It is strictly a dairy product. It is the left overs of cheese (liquid) then processed.
I suspect you have a gluten allergy?

Soy is a very 'incomplete' protein - go with whey for PWO and a casein/egg/milk/whey blend of some sort at other times during the day.
I know they make rice protein supplement, but the protein in grains is even weaker than soy.

Hello,
I have been having the same question for a while, so I ended up drinking Soy shakes.
Here is a link to an interesting article concerning this matter, which you're welcome to visit:
