Hi I've heard loads of good things about a few supplements, so i decided to give them a go. Today, i bought ZMA tech, L-glutamine, Amino acids (19 in a pill i think), creatine, and i already have whey protein, cod liver oil, supradyn and super one (something from holland and barrett). I was wondering if this was a good mix or if i am taking too much at once and so early. Thanks Peter

You just starting? If this is just a start, you're taking too much. Supplements are for you to help you down the road when you have peaked. I don't know what your goal is offhand but it seems like you want to bulk up. Eat more food and do it at a consistent level. A good diet makes a huugggee difference. Glutamine and whey protein would be the only keepers for now.

I agree with ageis. If you are just starting, you should track your nutrition and activity, after seeing whats missing if any in the nutrient dept, then supplement. See how your trainig goes then supplement. The definition of supplement is "to enhance" so see what your diet is like, then review. Perhaps you may see you need vutamins and not some protien. Wait a while and don't rush it.

I'd also hang on to the fish oil supplement, though I'd swap the liver oil for fish body oils. The liver is where toxins are processed and fish tend to carry a lot of mercury there. High mercury levels can contribute to Alzheimer's among other things. What are Superdyn and Super One?

Thanks everyone, it's just that i haven't really made any progress for a while and it started reducing my motivation. I saw results quickly in the first month, but nothing (or nothing i noticed) gained for the next 5 months.
Supradyn: It's in the form of an orange flavour tablet which you put into water, and it fizzes for a few minutes while it dissolves. The description on the container says: "Supradyn recharge contains an extra supply of essential vitamins that your body loses when life has drained you. Supradyn recharge helps you stay full of energy by putting what life takes out." In one tablet, you get 100-300% RDA of Vitamin A, Vitamin D3, Vitamin E, Vitamin C, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folacin (folica acid), Vitamin B12, Biotin, Pantothenic acid. It also contains another 19 things in it.
Super one has much more in it. It contains 17 vitamins (some of which i've never heard of (like alpha carotene, cryptoxanthin, zeaxanthin, lutein), 12 minerals, and 12 "additional factors" (some i have also never heard of). On the front, it says: Timed release super one. Multivitamins and chelated minerals with Betatene. Contains natural carotenoids including Beta Carotene, Lutein, Zeaxanthin.

Why don't you just take 1 centrum forte. It has all those, including lutien, which is for the eyes.

Where can i get that, and would that be instead of just the supradyn and super one, or the amino acids and stuff as well?

Most supplements work better in synergy, that is together than separately. If you can afford it, the combo of glutamine, creatine, and protein, along with amino acids dring training is great. You are creating a positive nitrogen state, which you know we all are striving for all the time. ZMA before training can be of aid, but I think better taken before bed. As far as your oils, I would opt for Flax oil. It has argueably the highest concentration of Omega 3's and Omega 6's, which believe it or not also aid greatly in mobilization of metabolizing fat, i.e...burning fat.
