Just thought a poll would be interesting on everyones opinion on Ephedra, with yet another death related supposedly directly to it. How many of you use it, and good results? Are you for the inevitable ban or not?

I think there are other viable alternatives to it. Like xenadrine efx appears to work for a lot of people. but i think ephedra is not a risk worth taking.

I think the fda should really look into this, study it, do really extensive research to fully understand the positive and negative aspects of ephedra. I think it shouldn't be banned but to notify the public to be very cautious and to fully read up on it before taking it . The guy who died was training in a hot environment so ephedra shouldn't be blamed for all of it. It was a mix of the hot weather, pressure from the coaches and exphedra. Mainly the pressure from the coaches was the key factor. I know alot of people who've carefully taken ephedra and have seen great results. For a person to die and to blame it on this product is unjustly.

Every label has a huge warning on it already. So do cigarettes. It doesn't seem to matter to most people though. I am curious, of the 88 reported deaths from ephedra, how many of them did not follow the directions? How many did not use common sense and make sure they were properly hydrated? I use ephedra (Ripped Fuel) first thing in the morning before I workout. I only take one capsule, but the directions say take two for optimum results. About 30 minutes after an intense chest workout, my mom (when she came to visit last month) took my blood pressure and it was 125/65. I had ephedra that morning prior to working out, so I wonder if all of the problems we hear about are pre-exsisting problems that ephedra seems to aggravate.

Bottom line: I think its safe, as long as you're smart about it.

hmm..i kinda agree wif jbennett abt smart usage. Ive been using metacuts(2 pills instead of the "recommended" 4) each morning during workout for 3 weeks( but i cycle my usage)...and my bloodwork and urine tests all came back normal except for mildly elevated cholesterol( which im kinda stumped coz im only 21 :) so yah i do believe u should really research on the product ur taking before taking the next step

It's already banned in Canada. I wouldn't use it at any age.

Hydroxycut has come out with a no ephedrine tablet. I'm thinking of trying that. I guess I would rather not take ephedrine if I don't need to.

I have been on the Xenadrine EFX and only take it once a day right before my morning workout and it has been wonderful! Next week, I will start doing it as prescribed on the bottle, two tablets before morning workout and two tablets before lunch! I can just imagine what that's going to do! (yeah!)

I hope we can get back on track if anyone has good results, and if you are for the ban or against it, and your reason for either stance. Kind of an opinion poll is all

I agree with jnellie... Too many people are looking for quick fixes instead of putting in the work and changing their lives for the better.

Well, my thoughts on it are this. I am all for good supplements, and yes, it is very true that bodybuilders/strength training atheletes, and overweight/underweight people are probably some of the worst at abusing things. If some is good, you know, more is better! Even with reading labels, some will chance things, others will disregard. In this vein of thought, I think anything as potentially dangerous as ephedra should not be put in the hands of anyone in any amounts they want at any time. It has too many different effects depending on the person. This in itself is dangerous.I can attest to this, I am probably as healthy a person as there is. I tried ephedra, took only the recommended amounts, even started lower. I was taking my regular 2, I was in contest training, early one afternoon on my way to work. By the time I got to work, I was so jittery it was scary. I had to work in the vice presidents office that day doing some wiring. I was almost profusely sweating and had very bad shakes and chills. I will admit I was very scared, and thought to myself, never again. Well, I have held to that. Since then, as some of you have mentioned, my contest training has been old fashioned, ephedra free! I wonder how the quality control in the places that make this stuff are? Are they workers like you and I that have bad days and underpaid, and some days just don't give a hoot? Anyway, for these reasons I am for the banning of it and never recommend them to my clients or freinds at all. Now, in fairness, my wife can do them and go to bed! So, again, it is the unpredictability that makes me give a thumbs down. So, there's my story and I'm sticking to it! LOL...

With all the negative pub from the media on ephedra, i decided to stay as far away from ephdra based products as possible for the fears that everyone knows so well. I have found a supplement from GNC called Lipovar8. and have been impressed so far. I dont feel the effects similar to those that i have felt when i have tried ephedra products. I did a lot of research on lipovar8 and found some really interesting things. the main ingredients are as follows:: Coleus Forskohlii Extract(forslean) 62.5mg, guarana 228mg, Gymnema Sylvestre Extract 100mg, Citrus Aurantium Extract, 94mg. Green Tea Extract 60mg. Caffine 50mg, Bioperine (couldnt find anything on this) 2.5mg, and Calcium Phosphate 764mg (not sure about this either. I found quite a bit of my information on " supplementwatch.com.

If anybody has any feedback on this product please let me know about it.

Thanks!

Mike

There are 7 keto products out now, but a bit on the pricey side. But, you always in my book get what you pay for.

I have had good results in the past with losing fat and energy gain, I recently started taking it again to get a boost for my workouts and if taken properly with plenty of water I haven't had a problem. I believe the recent death was due to the fact he was not in the shape he was suppose to be in,it was very hot and he was not hydrated as well as one should be when taking ephedra in heat. So no ban ,people should be able to read the directions before they take a product.

NEVER will i use ephedra again. I too like BB1FIT used it and was soo freaking jittery i thought i was going to just plop over into a seizure or something, it made my head hurt, and my heart was going like 110, and sweating all over the place for no reason. I do not respond to caffiene very well either though. but thats me, i figure if people have died from it, what the hell is the use in reinstateing it? i mean come on, supplemets are not intended to kill people. at least i hope not, but yeah i would never use it again!

key with this supplement is starting slow and watching for negative sideeffects....

I have taken it evne before sleep when extremely tired...knowing that I will fall asleep before it will kick in....had the most intense albeit somewhat scary dreams....if I don't fall asleep in time....i wouldn't period....taken at other times it was alright at first...until after about a week when I started getting weird heart palpitations and I was taking less than the dosage....so i stopped and never since .....I respond ok to caffeine but it just rubbed me the wrong way....

Well, I'm 5'9" and I weighed 270 lbs with a bench press of about 140(only number I can remember off the top of my head), my freshman year of high school, I started working out and eating right, took hydroxycut as directed. All my lifts went up about 40-45% within the year and I lost 40lbs, I also took creatine, but personally I think If you take ephedra responsibly it's a great supplement, without it i might still be a complete lard ass. I could use some right now.

here here, as you say if its taken responsibly by a healthy individual its a great supplement, I have used it previously and I plan to take it anyday soon (as soon as it arrives in the post lol) I think its down to the idividual I never had any major side effects, maybe just a bit sleepless some nights from late workouts. you can still get it on the internet its just a matter of looking and searching google lol
