I know that when excersing the average person should consume 1 gram for every pound....How much protein should be consumed in a serving without wasting any? For ex. a 45 gram protein shake...Will some of the protein go to waste...Thanks

I have heard a good amount of a protein shake should be 20-40.

I was told by the owner of the gym I work out at that 50 grams is too much. That is a waste. He told me to cut that in half and take 2 separate shakes with 25 grams a piece9(my protein shake calls for 2 scoops)

The whole protein going to waste is such an old school beleif. As long as you stay within your caloric range, you can take 50 grams of protein in a meal, especiallt after a workout.
