I am 15 years old and 190 lbs. I just started doing squat again after having shoulder surgery. I was out for about 3.5 to 4 months, and i was wondering if 315-325 lbs. is a good start? thanks-------------- "Football is the way to be, if I cant have that I go right to bodybuilding." -Monceaux-(me) |

you will be amazed that as you get stronger in the squat, all of your other lifts will increase dramatically as well.-------------- Michael "Trample the weak; hurdle the dead!" |

I'm 22, weigh 260, and only have a total of 115lbs of weights. :( I can squat the hell out of it though!! -------------- And my soul must be iron, because my fear is naked. I'm naked and fearless. |

As long as this one got bumped up again I'll join in. It doesn't make a bit of difference how much you can squat, bench or anything else. It's all how you do the lift no matter what it is. Zane was my role model if that tells you how old I am. I see people in my gym every day doing the same thing over and over and over. It doesn't matter how much you can lift one time. It's how you lift it. Alright, off my soap box but these kind of questions on a body building board tee me off. |

to a point, mikencharleston is correct. if you are training for a competition in a olympic, powerlifting or strongman event, then you need to be concerned about how much you lift; however, only in your weight class, and in a strict and tight form. but then again, that's why we have a strength training thread...-------------- Michael "Trample the weak; hurdle the dead!" |

Just make sure that your technique and form is strict and tight. Good luck to ya!!! Michael ============= Just like Michael said watch your technique here's my story, junior year of high school I maxed out at 385 then later in the year when I had my maxes flying up well into the 400lbs range, my back was always getting sore, then on our 5x5 workout second set of 295 I sprained all the muscles in my low back, I couldn't run or do anything for basically about two months, now its my senior year and I'm struggling to do 365, I thought I was doing good until I hurt my back. Form over everything don't chance it. -------------- The reason santa is so Jolly is because he knows where all the naughty girls are! |
