If you go to the muscle targeting section of ft you can see various workouts for your lower back.. things like good mornings might be the same so maybe you could try something else like seated rows or hyper extensions.. either way you'll be moving back and forth to work your lower back.. maybe your moving up/down\back/forth too quickly.. try slowing it down and see if that helps...
Deadlifts are great for hitting the lower back, glutes and hams. Maybe you're doing them too fast. Slow down the pace, pause at the top of the movement and feel the stretch on the way down. Don't forget to breathe...
