for a little while now i ve beeen crazy about this one girl at my school and really havent had too much guts to talk to her all the time , only now and then, and usually I'm afraid to go and talk to her if she's with her friends. any way last friday i was at her lunch table and just as the bell rang for dismissal, her ex boyfriend ( a nice guy who i told i liked her) came up to me and asked if i still like her i said i did and he said why dont i go up to her and talk to her and said that i got kind of bashful and said id wait, but then i just said "oh what the hell" and i went to talk to her even though her friends were standing there, and we had a normally great conversation and right before we got to her class , she asked me what i was doing this weekend and i told her nothing and she said she wasnt doing anything either , (I was going to ask her for phone number just then, but) instead i asked her for email address and she said
"ok, just email me later so i can give u my number( the late bell was about to go)" so she did and then just wrapped her arms around me and hugged me, and good bye. and now its sunday and i ve just about checked my email every hour and nothing from her, im sure that maybe just something came up or her internet wasnt working , but this makes ME TENSE, I'll see how it goes tomorrow at school. I just feel so tense right now!!!!!!!! help?!

I'd recommend not assuming anything and not jumping to conclusions. Could be a very simple reason. You never know. Relax. If it is meant to be, it will be. If not, then so be it. :)

Ya dude women always test men.They do it all the friggin time!You have to learn to recognize these tests and pass em.Women love guys who r confident and have their own thing going.Resist the urge of acting like a wuss and whining to her about her not emailing just give it a couple days then confront her about it and make fun of her in a light-hearted way.tell her she's acting all dittsy and that you don't like yur time wasted.lol it's always fun to bust girls and make fun of them in a confident way:p

Oh boy, can't wait to see some of the ladies reaction to this one(Xphobicas). lmao However, Xphobicas is basically right about one thing, women generally like confidence and I agree that you (GOWAR) should act like you don't care and I think you'll see her go after you. Women I've run into in this situation like a challenge and will pursue a guy when he's hard to get. Works like a charm dude. Not always but, often. Hey, worked for me. lol

Kick that "manhood" into gear and good luck GOWAR.

Uhh. Yes, most women like a guy who is confident. But don't let that confidence come off as cockiness or being full of yourself. Women in general do NOT "test" men. We don't have some secret club with a Test of Doom(tm) that all men must pass to be worthy of our company.

If a guy told me I was being a ditz and he didn't like his name wasted because I didn't happen to log into my email that day, I'd tell him to shove off and he would never have a chance in the world again. Keep in mind I'm a good 15 years older than you all. But I don't think behaving that way with a girl will win her over by any means.

How did it go when you saw her in school? I want an update! LOL!

Noooo i didn't mean u should call her a dits the next day after!I meant wait 4 or 5 days and do it with a smirk in a joking manner!Women do not like to laugh or have a sense of humor??ofcourse they do!women like it when u r a little cocky(not too much) and have confidence.I am slightly cocky and i get dates all the time!

ROFL! I mean't older than Xphobicas and Gowar!

HAHA! I'm only 32 goofs!

Xphobicas, I AM a female, and I'd probably smack you. :) No offense. Maybe teenage girls are different.

Gowar, your mom is no different than any other mom. ;) No mother is comfortable when their "baby" grows up and starts getting to the age of moving out and having their own life. I went through the same with my dad. :) She likely does want you to be happy. :) It takes a while for parents to adjust to their children growing up. I'm 32 and my dad STILL asks me if I have enough money to pay all my bills. LOL!

I would not get a gift for a first date. Ask her out. :) Just go for it. "Would you like to go to a movie on Saturday?" See? It's easy! :p

Hey Gowar!
What does 3.8 gpa mean?

That is a grading scale. :) Usually the highest you can get is a 4.0. For each grade you get, you have a score. You add the scores up and divide by the total number of grades, and that is your g.p.a (Grade Point Average).

A=4
B=3
C=2
D=1
F=0

So, for instance, if you had six classes and got 4 A's, 1 B, and 1 C, you would have 4+4+4+4+3+2=21. Then take 21 divided by 6 and you have a 3.5 gpa.

A 3.8 gpa is very good, especially for also being in extracurricular activities that generally take away from homework time.

Come on Xphob, you could have emailed her with this. It's not necessary to blast someone on an open posting. Keep it civil dude, we all have our opinions. I didn't interpret her post to be slanderous.

Well, I have no idea what was said, since I didn't see the post until after it was changed. But I wanted to make it very clear that I in NO way intended any offense or disrespect. I guess sometimes with text it is hard to know how someone meant something since you can't hear their tone of voice or see their facial expressions. I can assure you that I NEVER ever ever would say something like that in a serious intent. That is why I put the smiley face and pointed out that I meant no offense. If I ever felt the need to yell at someone or "go off" on them, I certainly would not do it on a public forum. If I had meant what I said seriously, I would have just sent a private message with a lot more detail. I meant what I said as a joke regarding the difference in likes/dislikes of the age groups represented. If it was taken wrong, then I'm sorry.

If you think there is a chance your parents will say that you can't go, then I'd talk to them first. Explain to them that there is a great girl at school that you would love to ask out on a date and tell them you would like their input. If you let your parents be involved in your life before the fact, you will probably get less resistence from them when it comes time to go on the date.

Dude if i was you i'd just chill.Let her come to you.You shouldn't get hung up on one girl because you just set yourself up to be able to get hurt.Trust me if this girl likes you her attraction is going to change if you keep calling her like some desperate guy.Women can sense when you are desperate.Just keep looking for other girls to ask on dates and wait for this girl to approach you.

Some girls like to be pursued. Others like to do the pursuing. No different than guys. :) Go do some cardio and destress. :) Most girls can sense if you are seeming desparate, even if you don't realize it yourself, and it will push them away.

I'd not contact her at all anymore until school on Monday. Just let her be for a day. Then on Monday if you see her, just smile and say hi as you pass in the hall or something. Let her approach you. When she does, then just ask her out on a date.

That is what I'd do if I were a guy in your situation. Keep in mind, I'm only making suggestions based on my own experiences. I'm not saying they will or won't work. :) What is good for you is up to you to decide.

GOWAR you seem like a sweet guy. I am sure everything will work out. Be charming and fun with her. Fun is really the key. I have been with my hubby since I was 16. I was going out with his best friend at the time and we used to talk on the phone daily as friends. We could talk about anything under the sun, you name it and I was comfortable talking about it. Whereas with my bf at the time I talked about few things. Well those phone conversations caused us to become best friends and eventually it just happened that some how I broke up with my bf (can't actually remember it happening) and was withmy new best friend. So remember listen, laugh, have fun, and be open about things. Don't act desparate but always be there for her. I would like to say this year will be my 10th wedding anniversary and we are still the best friends in the world!
Get her a flower for your first date....girls still like things like that (be sweet).

almost every time ive called her , shes not there or she'll call me and im not there, but last night she said she was going to call me right back and she didnt, and then i usually see her at school but always with numerous guy and girlfriends and i think too myself that i shouldnt talk to her every chance i get for space reasons. Sometimes and not as much as i used to i still get shy, do you think i should tell her that sometimes i get shy or in way like " the worst thing i hate about me is that i get shy and bashful sometimes", how do u think she would react to poem i wrote expressing myself to her or just complimenting her, i was going to wait to give her them until we were atleast knowing each other well.??????????? How often do you think i should talk to her??

Sometimes people will mock the idea of a poem or letter. I personally think it is nice. Don't go overboard but be honest. I was always the type who could express myself on paper better than in person. Be honest but don't scare her away. If she is a nice person she will react well. :)

LETS GET ONE THING STRAIGHT, I'M NOT DESPERATE, I'm just fishing, fishing for this one girl because she looks and sounds like the best thing swimming around my school, i still need to get to know her before i set the hook, and the other girls that i have met that i think are good looking seem to have a stuck up, unfriendly attitude. I try and go for the creme of the crop.

Dude don't act so insecure!I'm just giving u my opinion from the way i see it!.Who cares what i think here!No one knows me.Dude sometimes those girls who appear stuck up r just trying to protect themselves.Using a defense mechanism to weed out the losers.It takes a real man to understand and realize that alot of these girls are alot more than meets the eye.Alot more deep than their looks and unfriendly attitudes give them credit for.We all strive for the best who's to say u know who is the creme of the crop boy?You seem blind and ignorant to me.

hello all my good advisers , I'm going out of my mind because this girl is making me, and her ex. Her ex every other day tells me i should just be friends with her just dont let her know you like her , well it seem i have just done that , he says she loves him hearing that feels like a hammer just hit me in the heart, and this weekend we cant hang out because she has to go buy a dress to go to her boyfriends prom because hes a senior, GOD i can just picutre her!. and thats not all. Now she must be going through the biggest pain on her mind body and heart, her grandma who she lives with may have cancer, and she said she didnt want to get into because she'll get like emotional, im perfectly straight with that, but o my god, i feel like im on a bridge thats falling down. I dont know what to do next?

GoWar- There are just certain girls who are very friendly to everyone they meet, but aren't really "close" to anyone. Every guy they meet, they make the guy feel good about themselves. Am I right? She's very positive, points out positive qualities about yourself? Makes you feel good? These are the girls guy (me) get obsessed with in High School. But it's fools gold. They're too nice to say they're not interested. They don't want to hurt anyone's feelings ever at all costs. If that means stringing people along, to them it's by far the lesser of 2 evils. Move on. Just from my experiences.

If I could edit my post I would put the word "nice" in quotations. These are actually usually very self-centered people who want everyone they know to think positively about them at all costs.

The girl who is your "cream of the crop" won't play games with you, won't string you along, and will be easy to talk to in front of her friends. If she says she'll call back in 20, she'll call back in 20 or have a valid excuse.

I wonder how things would go if everything you've been saying here, you told her. Censored to a certain extent, of course! But she might appreciate that you've been thinking of her. Maybe you could help her study.

UPDATE: like the last day of school i went to go tell her, and i saw her, talking with some friends, i was just gonna go up to her and get her away but then i just walked around and came back hoping to find her alone and then she had left. But i had like written her a few poems telling her how i felt. and i was going to give them to her. So anyway for the first couple weeks of the summer i called her a quite times with no response. and she had spent most of her time with her boyfriend. So later i asked my buddy who was in her class who was also her ex. to get her beeper # since i hadnt talked to her in awhile. and then i get a call from her and she says she's really offened and upset that i would have my friend say something like what he said that i wanted to know. He asked her " that i wanted to know if she was sleeping with her bf" and i know for starters that that's none of my damn business and i would never say that. and also she said that her sister said that i thought her and her grandmother couldnt control her and that she was in mature.

What happened with that was that one time i called and her sister said she just has been hanging with her bf for many days and really hasnt been home much, so i said " she just gets to go out and come back when ever she wants" and her sister said basically. So i dont know why she would get so mad over that.

But when she asked me back on the phone if i asked these things, i said yes basically because i didnt want to start a dispute between everyone and she said she didnt know if we should remain friends, but then after we talked, i guess everything was cool, but she told me she was in love with her boyfriend and thats why she really cant return my calls and she cant think of me more because shes in love with her boyfriend.

So since that day I've kind of felt like frigging moron. because i kind of wasted my time and didnt even get to tell her how i felt. But now I'll know not to let myself fall for someone who already has a boyfriend.
