Anyone else here in college and have to eat dorm food?.. Dorm food here seems like it has some minimum requirement of as much fat as humanly possible in each serving.. balancing what I eat sucks.. it like that for anyone else?

I used to go to a college in Virginia. The dorm food was pretty sucky, but they did try to cater to everyone: vegetarians, carnivores, and health nuts. I can imagine that balancing your food is hard because you're not really sure of the nutritional information.

They have a page on the web with their weekly menu and nutritional info.. the lowest thing on last night's dinner (excluding maybe green beans and some of the 'usual pasta stuff') had about 18g of fat in each serving... oh well I guess.. some of the other buildings supposedly have 'good' stuff.. but i'm too lazy to go over there.. =)

college food sucks it is so hard to get the right diet unless u take your own stuff, i dont think colleges are prepared for ppl like us wishing to build muscle or keep fit, thats y i take my own stuff and have just buy little bits of food at college. i personally think if ur college dont have a decent food then take ur own food.

Well, the only problem with that is that a lot of times, your freshman dorm has noooooo kitchen and an extremely tiny refrigerator, so it doesn't really lend itself to cooking or storing any good stuff.

Ahhh, yes. I remember the college days. Well, some of them anyway. I graduated in 1998 from Florida Southern College and I have to hand it to them, they had a very good meal/food selection. I used to eat sooo much (still do, though) and I gained a good amount of lean mass. You could eat as much as you wanted and go to the cafe as often as you needed to. I took this opportunity to the extreme. I have visited other colleges and I know exactly what you guys are talking about.

hehe i'm still in the dorm that I guess they put most of the freshmen.. only reason I stay is because its RIGHT across the street from the gym.. I really can't get any closer.. its great.. esp in winter since it only takes about a minute to run across the street through the parking lot and into the gym... I think the suppsosedly 'best' building is the farthest away.. kinda sucks.. depends on what I want.. convience.. or comfort..

Hell I'd be happy just to be in college.

I am not in college but I am in the Marine Corps. We have some pretty nasty tasting food, although it is supposed to be very healthy depending on what you get.

It should be.. I remember a long time ago reading some fitness mag that just had people from the army in it.. there were loads of people.. in freakin great shape... I don't think it listed what they ate or how they trained tho...
